Description

We ventured into the highest regions of the Douro in search of the best grapes and varieties that reflect the minerality and balance of this region and bring unparalleled freshness to the D. Maria Douro Superior White Valley.

Vinification and aging: The grapes are de-stemmed and the must extracted for fermentation, in an entirely manual process. After fermentation, 65% of the batch ages in stainless steel vats and the remaining 35% undergoes the last third of alcoholic fermentation in used 500L French oak barrels. Aging continues for 6 months in French oak barrels with weekly batonage.

Tasting notes: Vale D. Maria Douro Superior white 2022 has a clear and bright citrus color. On the nose it is an intense wine, with aromas of stone fruit and some herbaceous notes. The citrus notes combine with the freshness of the wine. In the mouth it is a delicate, elegant and creamy wine. Its acidity defines a fresh and long finish.
